Gold Tiger
Sitting in the hallway
Listening to the works of Mozart
Dancing in the rain,
of my youth;
Hoping is to complain
and extract the truth,
Mindless settlements are vague
and needless to say I'm weak;
Hearts explode euphoric dreams
and nightmares come when I'm not asleep
I don't let it get to me
driving my new Cadillac,
only wishing I had money
for gas...
Gold Tiger watches the alarm clock
and keeps his paw on snooze,
Kathy walks in with a ballgown on
and a bottle of booze;
I keep my happiness
nothing's getting in my way,
My life might be messed up right now,
But I gotta move on to keep up with the day.
