Another View

How can I act like nothings wrong
and put my fake mask on
hide my pain so no one see
what is really going on with me
to look past the clouds for the sun
and ignore the rain thats begun
to have hope that the sun will shine
and it hasn’t wandered off to die

my half full glass filled with barbs
poisoned thoughts and razor shards
arsenic laced with growing pain
topped with a twist of my own rage

I do not see the silver lining
I cannot see the sunshine shining
in these clouds it is dark and grey
overcast with a chance of rain
no colors cast across the sky
in the clouds the rainbows die

through these eyes I cannot see
the fucking forest for the trees
all I know is what I’ve seen
this dreadful world has lied to me

a blinding fog is rolling in
to cast the world in grey again
to choke the world of its light
and pull the color from its eyes

from where I sit the world can be
bathed in darkness just like me
cast in shadows without the sun
shining bright on everyone
only then will they all know
what I have seen this world show
the darkness and the misery
that others are too blind to see
