Nothing to Regret
Sprawled, out across carpet
of a two bedroom, one bathroom apartment
soaked within
the fibres of the rug
etched out the scene
ink, taint blood red.
There's her story,
captured.
Slit throat,
she's bound and gagged
face up, breasts
body and brains lay bare to the moonlight,
glittering,
her scorched flesh peeling away
fragments of skin float
in the wind
enthralled to the sight,
a sight staring vacantly to the ceiling
emptied,
life taken.
Every artery,
slashed.
Charred remains,
her corpse burnt to a crisp.
So gather what you may,
your justice
died with her.
In the flames that consumed her
lady liberty too, consumed.
