When You're Gone

You've been away,
For many a day,
The universe feels out of sway,
The inner soul is in decay.

I can't describe how I feel,
In only words that don't express what's real,
The expressionism forced closed by a dreaded seal,
The heart within is cold as steel.

Buried in the ground like an earthen sea,
Bound around as if by roots of a tree,
There seems no way to break free,
This is what your absence does to me.

From over the mountain the sea of glass,
An emotional downfall is coming to pass,
I want to cry out but alas,
I have no voice when you're away my lass.

My inner self has run to hide,
By the distance from the only one in which I can confide,
I need to feel you by my side,
My one and only soul-mate bride.

While you're gone there is no light,
I'm lost in darkness without sight,
Like walking thru dense fog in the dead of night,
Only you can save me from this plight.

It's you my love on which my happiness relies upon,
The beat of my heart will not go on,
An endless night without a dawn,
I just can't function when you're gone.
