Unspoken
He came into my store
Looked at me
And went about his way
Surprised me when he returned
With a handwritten note
Already entranced
Just by his voice
And his smile
We walked along the beach
Sat on the sandy steps
Talking
About what I’ve no idea
But he made me laugh
When he asked
“Can I kiss you?”
He stole my heart
Snatched my soul
Kept it wrapped up
His own priceless treasure
A handmade flower
A love letter on a white doily
In my mailbox
Addressed to DezyBelle
He snuck me into his room
Where we had some fun
It wasn’t just sex
No, not that time
We moved to the floor
To not wake his family
And came together
The first time for both of us
Together as one
He wrote me a love song
Sang it to me as he played
That pretty guitar
But I admit
I didn’t hear a word of it
As I sat wishing for the courage
To simply say
“I love you.”
Looked at me
And went about his way
Surprised me when he returned
With a handwritten note
Already entranced
Just by his voice
And his smile
We walked along the beach
Sat on the sandy steps
Talking
About what I’ve no idea
But he made me laugh
When he asked
