Outlasting My Demons
Sifting through the sand in my mind
For a life I've long since left behind
Looking for the remnants of my faith
But somehow it all got trapped underneath
A mountain of regret
Memories I've tried to forget
Losing the fight every time I open my eyes
Need something to make me realize
I am no longer a man
I'm just a shadow of my past
I need something to believe in
To help me see that one day I will outlast
All my demons
Walking through a wasteland of shattered dreams
Silence except for the distant screams
Memories torment me like poltergeists
Voices that I despise!

Torture and abuse me

It's funny you should say that, because Brent Smith is one of the biggest influences on my songwriting. He and Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge both have big impacts on my writing. Glad you enjoyed this.
