Country Song
I grew up country
Underneath a vanilla sky
Dusty mornings, herding cattle
A twang in my steps
Now that's all gone
I can't write a country song
Like my roots, I changed everything
Mother kept me fed
Taped up my broken bones
Lived a simple life, no education
Well I wanted more
Now that's all gone
I can't write a country song
Like my roots, I changed everything
Expensive taste
Married into city lights
Can't stand the heat behind
Back and forth I go
Now that's all gone
I can't write a county song
Like my roots, I changed everything
No good son anymore
Underneath a vanilla sky
Dusty mornings, herding cattle
A twang in my steps
Now that's all gone
I can't write a country song
Like my roots, I changed everything
Mother kept me fed
Taped up my broken bones
Lived a simple life, no education
Well I wanted more
Now that's all gone
I can't write a country song
Like my roots, I changed everything
Expensive taste
Married into city lights
Can't stand the heat behind
Back and forth I go
Now that's all gone
I can't write a county song
Like my roots, I changed everything
No good son anymore
