Not All Addictions Are The Same
Consumption and addiction guilty in any degree
I can fight but it is like stopping the lung from inhaling oxygen
and hoping to still be alive
The appeal may be couched in tokens
from gems and perfume and maybe even constellations
but the reality is quite simple and plain
Oh yes it's about penetration
fiery interaction and reaction
give me all that traction
sweat induced satisfaction
Point the finger and wrinkle the nose
for this course of events
so not a direction desired to be altered
"Let men build their kingdoms
Let them make the laws for this world to heed

One of the great things about YouTube is the concert footage. I just borrowed The Doobie Brother boxed set "Long Train Runnin' " from the library. As I was putting song onto my hard drive I was curious about who was singing certain songs. Thought the backdrop for a whole concert from Santa Barbara looked familiar. It was indeed UCSB 4 years before I attended. I was were impressed with everyone but my one standout had to be Cornelius Bumpers, who not only played that sax, the keys, but also did a solid job with songs Tom Johnston did lead vocals on. So even though I don't have any weed, you can say I am having a Doobie good time! Simmons and McDonald always seem like two cool cats. Mike's duet of Marvin's "What's Going On" with Billy Preston always blows me away.

I have never seen them in concert. The last time they came this way it seemed like only 2 familiar likenesses were on the poster. McDonald has been solo for a long time now but the lineup on that tour didn't even include Tom Johnston, so I didn't pursue it.
As I mentioned to Archie I was at UCSB about 4 years too late. At the end of the show Patrick Simmons introduces Mike as being from Santa Barbara, which I didn't know; previous bio info I have read just has hime Southern California. That would explain why he and Kenny Loggins are often seen together, since Loggins does indeed reside there. Jackson Browne has quite a place in the are as too. (Off the grid and runs on geothermal and solar power)

Yes---I don't know if I should have made a distinction between love and sex, since some claim one can be addicted to sex, which could present a problem, whereas love (in my book) should never be considered a problem.
