Open vs. Closed Minds
Eyes slow to see, ears half deaf to hear
Minds wrapped up in their bubbles of stubbornness
Never a moments yield to reason and discussion,
Open minds see things for what they are
And ponder carefully what they discover, consequently
They make their judgements, express them reasonably
Hotheaded bigots only look to quarrel and fuss
Open minds look to understand and learn
People are hypocrites, all around,
Where is the sense to be found?
No one is perfect nor should be expected to be
But thick headed people only see what they want to see

This poem is only too true. This is mature. To many to change one's mind is considered weakness( conviction more worth than sense)I like this and read it in the light of your recent tussle with adults !

This one rings very true and it's when we can begin to admit we're wrong that our minds can open.
It's sad that people don't like to discuss anything anymore. Maybe discussing doesn't always resolve anything, but it's a way to open a line of learning, communication, understanding, etc. If we could all learn to be open to discussion, imagine what we accomplish.
You write very well, but I think this is one of your better ones (So far, I haven't read all of them yet)

This is splendidly scribed Miss Kitty. Well spoken with maturity and an expression of the understanding of, though not necessarily acceptance with the hypocrisy that flows within any collection of ego's.
There are forces at work here that you may not be aware of, leftover's from a not too distant calamity that have people on edge.
If I may suggest, tolerance. Be patient, please!

Thank you for the encouragement!:) And I agree, learning patience & tolerance will be good for me... Have to work on that since my patience has never been that good.
