Shadows
Abused, so confused.
Thrashed, and bashed.
Can you see this lonely soul?
Turning black like coal.
Heart beat so shallow.
So burnt, looks like charcoal.
A small shadow,
Running, trying to follow.
Falls, gets up again,
Every now and then.
Stomped and trapped,
Tied up and slapped.
Who are we? Bathing in sun,
Not seeing the ones we've outdone,
Hung on the gallows,
Stuck in our shadows.
Thrashed, and bashed.
Can you see this lonely soul?
Turning black like coal.
Heart beat so shallow.
So burnt, looks like charcoal.
A small shadow,
Running, trying to follow.
Falls, gets up again,
Every now and then.
Stomped and trapped,
Tied up and slapped.
Who are we? Bathing in sun,
Not seeing the ones we've outdone,
Hung on the gallows,
Stuck in our shadows.
