Upon leaving the forces he was bored with nowt to do
So he worked part time as a greeter at a store called B&Q
The management loved him the customers thought him great
There was just one small problem he always came in late
The exasperated manager had a quiet word

For an ex serviceman like you John lateness is absurd
What did they say in the Navy when you turned up late?
I’ll bet you got a bollocking for making people wait
No they never showed me anger their smiles were bright and fair
They said good morning Admiral would you like some coffee sir?;-)
