Warm Passion In The Winter

Sitting by the fireside,
My lady love and I,
The crackling fire like a winter chorus,
The embers dance in the hearth before us.

A bottle of wine sits nearby,
On the table just behind,
We gaze into each other's eyes,
Our souls bared completely with no disguise.

I take her hand in mine,
And we stand together in the fire's light,
I lead her to our wooden front door,
For her I always strive to be something more.

I help her into a fluffy warm coat,
With mittens and a scarf,
I'm going to take her for a walk in the night,
In the moonlit glade covered in snowy white.

I bundle her up nice and warm,
I do my best to protect her from the cold,
We're venturing out into the wintery world,
I love her dearly with my heart completely unfurled.

As soon as I'm clad in my overcoat,
I take her hand and off we go,
We're setting off on our snowy trek,
We'll make sweet love as soon as we get back.

The white smoke curls from the top of the fireplace,
The smell enticing us to hurry and return,
I'm holding my baby so very tight,
I'll never let her go - not even out of my sight.

We walk along a little known path,
That guides us along our wintery journey,
She's an angel that will never be alone,
She's the one I'll always have for my own.

Along the way we pause for a moment,
Needing a little extra warmth,
I pour her a cup of hot apple cider,
Looking into her eyes she knows I'll always be beside her.

As we near the Christmas town,
You can easily hear the caroling sounds,
Songs of joy and triumph over tribulation,
And angels leading us to blessed salvation.

Ringing bells,
And joyous singing,
And scenery covered in Christmas lights,
Forever filling our hearts with love and delight.

After a while well spent in the majestic village,
We set off on our return journey,
We soon see home in the near distance,
Once there our intimacy will have no resistance.

Back inside once again,
With the door closed behind,
We remove the outer armor,
I kiss her gently like a knightly charmer.

We both take a sip of the honey-based nectar,
With its very fine aromatic bouquet,
Quite simply it's a notable red,
Ending our night's journey perfectly - I carry her to our fireside bed!
