Am I Beautiful Today?
Spotted face, freckles everywhere
Green eyes, sometimes blue, sometimes grey
Sometimes all the above
Almond eyes with baby Crows feet
They’ve been there since birth
Lips so subtle, not too thin and not too thick
They’re always in a frown, even when they smile
Never sure what was up with that, but hey whatever
Hair, a mess, frizzy and poofy
But sometimes tame, those are the good days
You don’t smile with an open mouth anymore
I see you brush and rinse and spit
Swishing that nasty mouthwash
Trying to keep them white
Get them white I should say
They crumble when you brush
I’m sorry for you
The looks you get as if you don’t brush at all
But, you’re still beautiful
I know the truth
I see your beauty
What is it you see when you look in that mirror?
All that I see?
But it’s not pretty to you is it?
You hate those freckles, and Crows feet
The frown you wear, even as you smile
Frustrated with your hair
Those teeth that have given you pain and suffering since you were five
You don’t see beauty
The truth
When I look in the mirror today
Which will I see?
The beauty
Or the latter
Green eyes, sometimes blue, sometimes grey
Sometimes all the above
Almond eyes with baby Crows feet
They’ve been there since birth
Lips so subtle, not too thin and not too thick
They’re always in a frown, even when they smile
Never sure what was up with that, but hey whatever
Hair, a mess, frizzy and poofy
But sometimes tame, those are the good days
You don’t smile with an open mouth anymore
