Lost
Sadly he never smiles
broken feet carried
him thousands of miles
He let go of a dream
now nothings left of him
but his echoing screams
He was in love with her,
she was free, something
he could never be
Without her he is dead
totally fucked up
with pain in his head
A drifter on a road lost,
darkness surrounds him,
his heart encased in frost
Alone he waits to die
no more walking
he can only cry
broken feet carried
him thousands of miles
He let go of a dream
now nothings left of him
but his echoing screams
He was in love with her,
she was free, something
he could never be
Without her he is dead
totally fucked up
with pain in his head
A drifter on a road lost,
darkness surrounds him,
his heart encased in frost
Alone he waits to die
no more walking
he can only cry

re: re: Re: Lost
Wuthering Heights was a 19th century tragic-romantic novel by one of the Bronte sisters, set in north of England (Yorkshire) it has been made into a movie more than once (perhaps most famously during WWII when Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh were the pair), and much more recently a West End (equivalent your Broadway) musical called "Heathcliffe". The most recent film version I recall was made in 1990s with the part of Cathy played by Juliette Binoche.
The two major difference between the situations is that Cathy married someone else and she was not as free as the woman mentioned in your poem, and that Heathcliffe, unlike the man in the pic here, grew shaggy hair wise.

Wonderfully melancholy! would'a, should'a, could'a right? There's a beautiful JT song called "Walk Down That Lonesome Road" that reflects this same message.
