Secrets keep us apart.
Separated, we take our measure–
Are my secrets safe with you?
We dared those places, dark and silent,
laughed and cried in each other’s arms.
I will keep your secrets safe with me.
When we met for the last time
we could not know that separate
paths awaited us,
that all we would have
are dreams of precious moments
with no secrets left to keep

I felt this way down deep. When the secrets become not shared any more, it hurts deep knowing they are now shared with someone else. That after all you shared, your value.....nothing!

The one thing I loved about this was the line that her secrets are safe with you. Still caring even through the pain. Lovely write.
