Like A DOG
She is vengeance from remission
infecting me with her words
coursing through vessels
and convulsing nerves
polluting my mind
with her disease
she is intoxicating
anxious breath
drawn behind closed doors
rattling my demeanour
kissing the dragon
of my obsession
she disconnects me
severing my cord
discarding promises
like broken matchsticks
again I succumb to the haunting
unravelling spoils from her gift
powerless to the pendulum
I swing from every offering
and fuck her like a DOG.

I actually thought about not being so harsh on the last line, but when you write the last line first, how can one put out the spark?

Thanks heaps Theo! I'm glad I can still catch one of my longest followers off guard.
This poem is the sequel to "The Canonised Nightmares..." It was the last poem I wrote some years ago. It was the end of me then and "Like A DOG" is symbolic to my rebirth as a writer.

I'll just say it... Fuck, I've missed your scribes, Mister Case and it was worth the wait if the reward is reading this.
You really know the way to a man's heart Mia... straight through the ribcage with a chainsaw. I can feel the fumes of the 2-stroke hit the back of my throat.

Third stanza did it for me... Then again, this subtlety contrasts wonderfully with your ending.

Now who's the one being uncouth?
Yeah, I have to admit I've avoided dropping the F-bombs in my poetry, because it's done to death. I was in two minds whether to drop the last three lines, but In the end I think it just drives home the way I felt at the time.
