Dad, I Never Had You There

I've never felt like I could please you,
Always seemed to put you down. You've
only ever told me once,
just how proud you are of me.
You said it like you meant it...
But your actions speak louder than words.

Growing up, I never had
you there.
You were never around.
You never cared.
Always so drunk,
always a drink in your hand.
I hate you so much,
for all the things that you did.

I lay there at night and cry.
Oh, if only you could hear me.
Oh, if only you knew.
If only you showed you cared.

Growing up, I never had
you there.
You were never around.
You never cared.
Always so drunk,
always a drink in your hand.
I hate you so much,
for all the things that you did.

You make a great window,
I see right through you.
All those lies that
you told.
You kept my hopes up,
then shot them down.

Growing up, I never had
you there.
You were never around.
You never cared.
Always so drunk,
always a drink in your hand.
I hate you so much,
for all the things that you did.

You say you wanna talk,
and I tell you all that's wrong.
You say that you're so damn proud of me.
And oh, how I can see.
Considering you called me,
A BITCH!

Just remember dad, I never had you there.
