Time Will Tell

What do I see, behind glory and fame,
other than a man who is drowned in his shame?
Why even ask, the answer is clear,
that only himself is who's held dear.

Do you not see, the robes that he wears,
are draped so perfectly as to cover his tears?
Lavish with color, to captivate the sight,
to cover up his wounds, as empty as night.

Are you not aware, that the meals you are fed,
they are laced with the lies that have filled you're head?
A master of ventriloquy, a connoisseur of deceit,
he robs of the treasures that lie at your feet.

He complains today about his life's sorrow,
but is he prepared for what comes tomorrow?
He cannot be, his heart stays still,
For he left it sitting upon his window sill.
