Tasting that poison again
from betrayed lips
sucking on each word
that rolls off a slippery
tongue

it's bitter sweet

I always come back for
more never knowing
why other than
wanting to taste
that tainted
habit

it's pain is comforting

just as I begin to recover
that urge grabs me
and a bit of truth seeps
in and mixes with
the toxic lies

it's truth sinks to the bottom

I open up with ease
and expand around that
false piece of
happiness and await
the next drop
of hope to exit
that slick
tongue
