Wake up

When she wakes up
You’ve managed put a smile on her face
But when she opens her eyes
It’s all erased
The good left undone.

You’ve managed to brighten her days
Waiting for that final moment
Maybe just to say hello
The touch of your hand
You take it so far, but I won’t embrace it.

All because of you
I believe in angels
You ran into my dreams
Unable to cut you out
But she’s too insecure.

You’ve managed to make her heart beat
But I won’t take my chances
Until you’re clear enough
To make me see what you are made of

When she woke up
Her smile never lasted
Her day was as bright as snow
Guess you said hello again
and her heart skipped a beat.
