The Ink On My Arms

You think "real ink" is the only kind of ink that looks cool on you?
well let me correct you for a moment.
It may be the only ink that is permanent,
but it's not the only kind to express yourself.

Living with depression,
and the darkness it brings along does not just
make your life miserable,
but you become silent and invisible too.
Being silent makes you feel deaf.
Being invisible makes you feel blind.
You feel shut out from the world.

I could kick and scream,
and no one would notice.
I could even throw a tantrum,
and no one would notice.
There was one thing I did that was noticed.
It was my last cry for help.
