Too many flavors of Doritos
I have never really liked cities - covered in concrete and lack of green
unswayable wind breaks trapping stagnant air
and I have never really liked malls - flashy displays and every want met
necessity defined with strategically placed subconscious cues
-- But its more than that.
I never really could handle airports - the amount of screens with dyslexic text
and Charlie Brown voices through intercoms
or commuter rails with confusing color coded worm-like drawings
You are here, thank god for that
and freeways whose definition is a paradox
Mobile tin cans, all, merging on a specific path to nowhere
-- However it's more than that
I never really enjoyed computer technology - all info thrust at you always seconds behind
sitting always still living life through simulation
or cell phones with their carry along chatter and text that require immediate attention
the inferred importance - Excuse me while I interrupt you
-- Though it's more than that
expansive stores - a village of gridded merchandise selections
consuming energy that drives supply and demand
1000 sq ft of crispy chips and salted snacks arranged neatly for the eyes to scan
Magazines with their blaring commercials and news telecast articles saying nothing
Window shopping always browsing tomorrow's - no wait, today's! next great thing
Modified office space coffins with carpeted walls and formica overlay surfaces
buildings with recycled air and fake buzzing lights glaring across rigid uncomfortable decor
Hurry hurry your time is valuable to some other unseen individual
-- And it is more than that
I really dislike non-biodegradable products
modified hydrogenated processed packaged cheese slices that feed the nation
Nutritional labels say nothing of care or safety
Politicians, clergy and those in power who hypocritically argue for expected successes
Do as I say not as I do preaching to the deaf
World news that tells me nothing tangible - dry cut emotionless puzzle pieces on a two dimensional map
Now with scrolling information never miss an updated moment
-- It is more than that
For me it's noise it's mental clutter it's chaos
it's everything and nothing
it's meaning is irrational and unnecessary
it's loud it's painful it's sadness
It's Sickness
And i have to move through it - a choreographed dance between minutes
until i return to the quiet where i take root
and sway with the breeze of thoughts
spirit tuned outwards to capture the unharnessed energy of existence
where i grow.
When stripped away of all the nonsense - there isnt much left to offer.
This is what I have. I dont like Doritos
