Standing On The Edge
standing on the edge
wondering if I can fly
think I might try...
to spread my wings and soar
free from pain for evermore
remove myself from my skin
so I can be me again
shed the weight that weighs me down
the extra baggage I carry 'round
the other me that doesn't fit
the flesh
and blood
and all that shit
lose the pain and misery
the tears
fears
and anxiety
erase the thoughts that make me think
and close the wounds where they bleed
into the sky a carefree flight
away from all the pains of life
high above the demons taunts
and far away from ghosts that haunt
from this edge its plain to see
just how easy it would be
to close my eyes and take a leap
and finally find the peace I seek
wondering if I can fly
think I might try...
to spread my wings and soar
free from pain for evermore
remove myself from my skin
so I can be me again
shed the weight that weighs me down
the extra baggage I carry 'round
the other me that doesn't fit
the flesh
and blood
and all that shit
lose the pain and misery
the tears
fears
and anxiety
erase the thoughts that make me think
and close the wounds where they bleed
into the sky a carefree flight
away from all the pains of life
high above the demons taunts
and far away from ghosts that haunt
from this edge its plain to see
just how easy it would be
to close my eyes and take a leap
and finally find the peace I seek
