The earth stopped today...

The earth stopped today        
I felt it    
My balance was off       
I tried however to remained steady    
      
The shift wasn't unexpected        
       
As with all things        
Change occurs with or without our permission        
       
She's no longer within my reach      
        
The sun will never shine as bright        
I will never feel her love as it trickles down her finger tips and touches my face again        
Mint will not smell as sweet       
Gingerbread will never taste the same        
A story will never be told as well        
     
Someone told me ...        
I should take comfort in knowing that        
My earth will take her rightful place in the heavens        
       
What they've failed to understand...         
It's the heavens that have been blessed      
       
I never understood until now      
     
Dreams do come true      
You just have to recognize them when they're within your grasp    
   
Nothing compares to a mother's love as it's the only true love one will ever know
