When It Rains
When it rains,
I am free to cry in public.
After all, no one bothers to look at anyone
else while hustling thru the storm.
It gives me a new freedom,
to let my feelings go.
To not keep them bottled up,
fighting to stay in control.
The ability to let the tears flow,
down my cheeks, mixing with rain.
The saltiness being washed away,
by fresh water from heaven.
My eyes and heart relieved of
some of their burden.
So when the rains end,
I can smile again.
I am free to cry in public.
After all, no one bothers to look at anyone
else while hustling thru the storm.
It gives me a new freedom,
to let my feelings go.
To not keep them bottled up,
fighting to stay in control.
The ability to let the tears flow,
down my cheeks, mixing with rain.
The saltiness being washed away,
by fresh water from heaven.
My eyes and heart relieved of
some of their burden.
So when the rains end,
I can smile again.
