I just don't
understand, woman:
this one-sided love.
You call me your man,
whisper into my ear,
touch me all over, say
you can never ever leave
me. But the way you
receive/deceive me: I
just don't understand.

I think there are different types and degrees of understanding. "Understanding" comes from a root which means "to stand under." I like that idea because it means I can have some understanding, empathy and sympathy for any person, once I am able to put myself in their position. I know this sounds cornie and unrealistic, but if I don't try everything either becomes a mystery to me or I hate it. Thank you for your comments.
