Wolf in the Camp
In the light of the lamp
Shining darkly in the night
There’s a wolf in the camp
Who is searching for wrong and for right
In the light of the day
When the remnants of night are long gone
There’s a face in the way
Of the time that we make to belong
And we yearn for another September
And we search for another December
And we know that this time to remember
Will soon fade away
So we cry in the light of the lamp
That shines in the face of the night
And we scream at the wolf in the camp
And we tell him this cannot be right
And the dawn dispels all the fears
Of the time that is fading to dust
And we suffer in silence the tears
Of a time that we thought we could trust
And we hope for a chance to regain
All the memories of love without pain
And we stumble around in the rain
Looking for the way home
Shining darkly in the night
There’s a wolf in the camp
Who is searching for wrong and for right
In the light of the day
When the remnants of night are long gone
There’s a face in the way
Of the time that we make to belong
And we yearn for another September
And we search for another December
And we know that this time to remember
Will soon fade away
So we cry in the light of the lamp
That shines in the face of the night
And we scream at the wolf in the camp
And we tell him this cannot be right
And the dawn dispels all the fears
Of the time that is fading to dust
And we suffer in silence the tears
Of a time that we thought we could trust
And we hope for a chance to regain
All the memories of love without pain
And we stumble around in the rain
Looking for the way home
