Alive Banner Reds

I thought it was the sunset lighting up the skyline
But the cries weren't of birds
Biblical horns shook me to me roots while I watched our lifelines fall into oblivion
I looked to my side and grasped for a hand that wasn't there, blind to the true savages
The Sun was was rising now,
They all were

We raised our hands and grasped at it, fumbling with a handful
of unconfined features
The Blood running down their arms and pooling at the feet
Deeper sinking, down with the ship
I watched them go, but the void's reach knew I was there

Empty churches were the first to go now that it mattered
The dead smiling for the first time in ages
And you clawed your way up our mountain didn't you
Just to see it end in dust and tears
The hand that fed you lying away from it's stump

You can kill everyone and it wouldn't matter
