The traveler

The taste of your welcome excites me
A new traveler across your land
I'm a stranger here please guide me
Take me gently by the hand
Wondrous things I've come to see
Many joys are to be found
Before I travel further
I'll raise a citadel on a mound
Then I'll cross your trembling plains
I may rest a while there
Anticipating the joyous vale
And the fruit to be tasted there
I'm not a weary traveler
I have but one request
There's many things I've yet to see
And joys left to digest
So please open up your palace gates
And let me in to rest
