The Promised Land
I didn’t know why I had to come to this place
Dimly lit cushions, a chest filled with feathers and lace
A paradise for boys like me, witty but always pretty
Heaven on earth, the promised land, hidden in the city
I didn’t know, yet here I was lying
Thinking about roses, slowly dying
Lost – yet far too happy- in a sea of sensation
Not caring anymore, giving in to temptation
Dimly lit cushions, a chest filled with feathers and lace
A paradise for boys like me, witty but always pretty
Heaven on earth, the promised land, hidden in the city
I didn’t know, yet here I was lying
Thinking about roses, slowly dying
Lost – yet far too happy- in a sea of sensation
Not caring anymore, giving in to temptation
