British summer

Dark clouds roll across the hills
prelude for the soaking rain
streams of air feeding the chills
the british summer strikes it's fame

Mist envelopes village holds
eerie shadows scar fading light
setting the scene for stories told
of myths and legends born to fright

Church bells echo through the valley
faintly heard through beating rain
windswept trees sway all hammy
with whistling sounds of old arcane

Endless days of rain in summer
helps define our weathered souls
wrapped up warm in nights of slumber
dreaming of summer on the whole.
