What Is Love

What is love but cruel?
What is love but blind?
How are we to know what love really is at the end of time?
Live beside someone for years
Watch a family grow
Together time passes
Until a year becomes a decade and even longer still.
Age is no hindrance
Time is no factor.
For those we love are all that seem to matter
We push ourselves to the limits
Change ourselves for better or worse
Just to keep something that some would call a curse.
An empty heart is a lonely soul
And a lonely soul is an empty heart
For what is life without someone to share it with?
To  share in your successes
To pick you up after your failures?
To show you that no matter how hopeless it seems
There is always a way to get over the bumps in the road that seem like mountains.
To share your life with someone is a goal only a few achieve
Some get lucky and others are blessed
Remember always hold them close and never take them for granted
Once they are gone from this world remember them
The way they made you feel
How mad they drove you
And most of all remember the love they held for you.
Through you they will never die
And through their memory you will thrive.
Hold onto them while you can
And share your life with them until death do you part.
For what is life but love
And what is love
But to give life to our hearts and souls.
To light a fire inside of us no darkness can snuff.
And what is life without a full heart and a happy soul.
