Foreshadow

I wouldn't be surprised
if he couldn't look me in my eyes
when he lies to my face
with an expression of disgrace
guilt filled with pain
knowing we will remain
living in a lie
if we put on a disguise
I'm too use to the shame.

It hasn't been that long
a perfect time to go wrong
I can read it on your face
you're in an uncomfortable place
guilt filled with pain
though we can't remain
rather live in a lie
if we put on a disguise
I'm too use to the pain.
