Trials the Truth has Undergone

Many are the trials the truth has doubtless undergone,
In books so thick they're big enough to tumble over on.
If there really was a story maybe it would make us smile,
Just to cheer us as we wander in the tempest for a while.
Though it's childish play to find a flaw in nearly every line,
Perhaps within the wayward verse is some reason if not rhyme.
And there maybe even looms within the tangled tapestry,
One big prophetic parable no prophet could foresee.
Arrows pointing differently can still point in one direction,
Where very different points of view may have an intersection.
And many words which seem mundane are really most germane,
To a story that is different though in many ways the same.
