Flame of Curiosity
she walked the dirt side trail that led into the woods
where danger was always lurking
and yet
she felt free and empowered to embrace her natural fear
she went deeper into the dim
learning new ways that she had never heard of
but she
didn't let those thoughts tempt her
it was a dark, daunting place
that didn't want to ambush and attack
but to
slowly swallow her soul so she'd never leave
and that is how it went on
she traveled the dark side for what seemed forever
experiencing
but leaving the moment she was ready
was she ever ready?
she convinced herself that this realm wasn't suited for her
and that she would take off
but never turned around.
one day she was so anticipated with happiness
from this place that she screamed
i'm here!
i never want to leave! i never will leave!
playing with fire isn't forbidden
but when you physically touch it
it burns and aches
and you then truly know the power that it holds
within its flickering flame.
