LESSONS TO LEARN

Bob Marley sang the words emancipate yourself from mental slavery
None but ourselves can free our mind

We need to educate ourselves with our black history
So many inspirational people unspoken
In our past
We have inventors, doctors, civil right fighters
So many who triumphant are not mentioned
Black history month
Why are they not spoken of
Always the same ones
Always the stereotype
Why are they for forgotten?
In the archive of our history
Stop being negative and doing negativity
Use positive role models to inspire
You in life
Even with all their turbulence, segregation, and racism
They manage to be positive, get educated and stay strong
Being black is more than skin color
It’s a inner spirit that has gone
