Soldiers
pay a price for freedom
they pay it everyday
men and women soldiers
who fight to pave the way
they leave their lives and family
and put themselves at risk
at never coming home
to families that they miss
so salute a soldier when you see one
and thank him for his worth
his life he gives for our freedom
it’s not a right or a human perk
but one that’s fought for everyday
somewhere in the world
they pay it everyday
men and women soldiers
who fight to pave the way
they leave their lives and family
and put themselves at risk
at never coming home
to families that they miss
so salute a soldier when you see one
and thank him for his worth
his life he gives for our freedom
it’s not a right or a human perk
but one that’s fought for everyday
somewhere in the world

Amen! On this weekend in particular I always make it a point to buy a round of drinks for servicemen in town on leave.

We often forget that it is just Sons and Daughters in a war. Your Poem is an important recognition of them. Thanks.
