Damn you Kerouac
But thank you for your inspiration
Ginsberg, Burroughs, Bukowski, Huncke
Reveling in the joys of life
Pleasure for the sake of pleasure itself
Daring to write your realities
Without the sugar coating required by society
“Obscenity” laden verses
Swear filled curses
Another junkie inspired vision of transcendence
By rail and by roads
Boxcars, grainers, and 48's
Carpool road trips and thumb waving hitching excursions
In court defending against so called sexual perversions
Thank you “Howl” and “Naked Lunch”
Thank you for being written.
Thank you beat generation,
But damn you still Kerouac.

Howl was written by Allen Ginsberg and the publisher had to go to court on obscenity charges, the publisher won.  

Naked Lunch was written by William S. Burroughs but it did not get published in the US until a few years after its European release because of obscenity laws.  Once published in the US, it was banned in multiple cities for obscenity, which was later overturned by a supreme court decision.
