Madam Lark of Night
Sweet Madam Lark of Night
What pleasures may I bring you?
What sensations satisfy your desire?
Why does only my pain ignite your fire?
Oh Mistress Philomela
Why do these tears please you so
While passion's pouring upon the floor
From between the beats of my fractured heart?
My raptor nightingale
Your talons tare pleasure’s howls
Deep through my back out of my grinding teeth
Collapsing to my begging, bloodied knees

Re: Madam Lark of Night <span style=
This is incomplete. I haven't been at all inspired to write anything since the death of my mother and not really much for months before that. But the other night I was watching Rachel Maddow on MSNBC and she mentioned an odd book titled, "Meanderings of Memory" that might not really exist, but was credited as the source for several words and quotes that eventually made it in the dictinary. So I got curious and looked it up on Google and it mentions that the book may have been some kind of pornography from the 1800's, which is kinda funny in itself because porn from the 1800's might have been nothing more than women in their underwear, lol. That might also explain why there are no copies of the book to be found in existence, as they likely met with a fiery fate, what with all the religous zealots up in arms over such fiery language.... But it got me thinking and inspired at least this short beginning of a poem and I thought I'd post it to get some ideas and feedback, maybe find some more inspiration to finish writing it. What do you think???

Your poem is inspiring in the sense that it makes me want to write my own version of 1800's poetry..... :)

JJ, your poem is already good as it is...but if you want to add more lines, nobody can stop you!
PM blocat, just in case he missed this one; he is good at this. I'm actually doing a compilation myself. Good luck!

Thanks for the compliment and comment. It just feels like it needs a more conclusive ending. JJ

Heyyyyyyyyy YOU! It's been forever since I read some of your ink! I do know and understand the situations and events that dimmed and weakened your pen. Still sending prayers! Xo
I completely agree with EngrVV! This is a finished piece to me. Such a interesting story; each stanza painting a different picture. If you do want to add more, I would love to read it as another poem or poemS. I also found your comment to be quite intriguing; I think I will search for "Meanderings of Memory" also.
This was Awesome! Xoxo

Thank you Rain, you words mean much to me! Some of the parts of this poem will make more sense when you read the bits and pieces of the book and quotes from it. JJ

JJ! I have to say that I read this awhile back, but failed to comment sadly. Pardon me for that...
I would say that this excellent poem is complete, or, at least, I thought it was when I read it. But, in otherwords, your ink has, yet again, surpassed my standards and dazzled me with emotion.
