For Women Who Are "Difficult" To Love

So she reinvented herself,
put on more makeup
smiled a little more
touched him more often
and approached him more softly.
Hoping he wouldn't leave,
hoping he would catch a glimpse
of the easy-to-love side of her
and stay to witness more of it.
She said a silent prayer
just before they would meet
but she could still feel him
slipping from her grasp.
