Seasons

Walk with me in the waking woods of spring
as the world emerges from its long dormancy
Laugh as I squeal like a scared little girl
when a lizard leaps across our path

Run with me in the falling rain of summer
as the heavens baptize us in wet warmth
Take me in your arms and kiss me deeply
when thunder crashes all around us

Stroll with me in the fallen leaves of autumn
as the fauna prepares for approaching hibernation
Hold my hand tightly and shush my giggles
when we approach the gathered deer

Dance with me in the fresh snows of winter
as the trees sleep beneath a soft white blanket
Keep me warm as our breath escapes in steamy tendrils
when we whisper of the beauty before us

Remind me that we are like the forest
as I sometimes struggle to understand changes
In every season, marvel with me at love’s resiliency
when we wander about finding out way together

Dance with me in the fresh snows of winter
as the trees sleep beneath a soft white blanket
Keep me warm as our breath puffs out in steamy tendrils
when we whisper of the beauty before us

Remind me that we are like the forest
as I sometimes struggle to understand changes
In every season, marvel with me at love’s resiliency
when we wander about finding out way together
