Freedom From Idenity

If we were to all stay anonymous
And our need for identity be forgotten
Then life would have too much freedom
And end in its own destruction
For anonymity leads to
Self-expression
Of the most extreme
To be free from the curse of identity which
Is to be cursed with the blessing of freedom
Leads to far too much power
For the conflicting ideas of humans both
freedom and voice
For a faceless or a anonymous man
Is a man without shame
For his own expression may threaten
The expression of others
A darkened shade
Placed across the world by total freedom
Will forever mask the anonymous
For their actions cannot be traced
