At first my  life was great
Intill I went on my first date
It wasn’t with a boy it wasn’t with a girl
When I think of that day everything goes still
It was with a drug called meth
I slowly started to hold hands with death
I didn’t think nothing would come out of it
Even after hit by hit
Drugs became my only true friend
I swore up and down our relationship would never end
Me and meth became real close
It was the drug I loved the most
I started using syringes
Always on week by week binges
I started losing a lot of weight
Slowly rising closer and closer to heavens gates
I couldn’t sleep
My emotions and the drugs ran to deep
I could stop
It took the help of a cop
They had me arrested
While in jail my sanity was tested
They said the drugs were killing me
They told me this program would help me in my recovery
I was sent away
That is how I am here speaking in front of you today
I have been sober a year
I no longer hate the reflection I see in the mirror
I hope I help everyone of you kids
With the horror stories of what drugs did
Good job completing D.A.R.E
I can tell in your eyes that you really care
So stay clean and sober
Unless you want your life to be over
You guys can all shine
