Penguins,Swans, and Mind Recordings

Brume spreads densely
Ashen angora
Cloaking
Lowlands.

Bare bones rattle
As icy breezes
dance
Throughout
there tops.

Heaven cries the earth wet.

I hug myself in attempt
To contain the warmth.

Situated upon
a plastic chair
I watch through
blinded
Windows as
life moves
Without me.

Penguins with ties
And
Briefcases
buzzing around
Like obliterated animals.

Swans in leggings
Failing to remember
There black beneath
The surface.

I'm still
cracked beneath
The surface..

But I remember.

Middle aged woman
In skinny jeans
Hair pulled high
Upon her head.

Cascading tail..
Wrinkled eyes.

Her attempts to
Find youth won't
Hide her eyes.

Backpack
and bicycle
She stumbles in
Stoned.

Cracked above
the surface
I'm still
cracked beneath
But I remember
At least
I remember.

Man beside me
Reminds me of
Chocolate Carmel .

Smooth brown skin,
Green eyes .

He rips
paper from
A notebook cautiously .

Gently like the pages
His fragile lover
Spread out upon
Paper.

I smile he nods.

Methadone queens
Out of the hive .

Sit somber
Nodding in
And out of
Nightmares.

I live in mine.

They speak
I listen.

Wondering If they
Know they'll be
Stars in my tributes
One day.

Fading
Flickering
Stars within
A constant dark sky.

"No recording device's
Permitted "

but my
mind records
Every single
Detail
Sound
and
Scent.

Silently I record it all.

My mind locks it down
My ink frees it.
