Hey

Hey, when you turn on that light
Make sure you look at my face,
Because I’d really love to fight
One last time before you leave this place.

And when you pull that string,
Make sure you hear me sing
Cuz it’s the last time
I’ll ever say a thing
To you.

Hey, quietly shut my door.
And pick your shirts up off my floor.
And listen to me sing
That I don’t want you around anymore.
Now kiss me once and get out, and pull that string.

Well I know you won’t agree.
But ya know, I have fringes, too.
And lately you bug the hell out of me.
We’d be perfect, yeah? Yeah. If it weren’t for you.

And when you flick up that switch,
Make sure you know which is which
When you scratch off another name
From one of my wrists.

You’re a victim of circumstance

Hey now, shut my door.
And pick your shit up off my floor.
And listen to me scream,
That, “If I ever cared, well it’s all over now.”
This is what you think it means.

Listen to me sing,
That, “I don’t want you to stay.”
Now kiss me once and get out.
And pull that light bulb’s string.
