The Life & Times of Little Justice: pt3
...Lil J thought hard about where his friend might be
when suddenly a realization struck him deep in the gut.
Might his friend have gone back to the house
and alerted his parents unduly? Thinking to himself,
nothing would be too terrible to for him handle,
because he was sure he was more than capable
of handling himself out here in this vast wilderness.
Lil J came to a decision...he decided he had better
head in the direction of home first, and off he went
calling out to bullet, then listening for at a couple of
hours to see whether there might be an indication,
a sound, of his trusted friend when he heard his
master's call.
As he made his way through the woods,
he noticed that trip back appeared different than how
it looked when he came in. Something was different,
where were the certain little bushes that seem to run
in a particular pattern, the smaller trees that bunched
together as if they where giving each other warm hugs
of affection...and then it struck him...he was lost!
Now all that bravado he previously had displayed
was all but gone and replaced with the reality of
never getting back home again! Lil J felt beaten.
Afterall he reasoned, he travelled what had to be
50 to 60 miles on up to this point. He slumped down
next to a tree, a dejected spirit made worse by the
fact that now his hunger had come on, and his stomach
was doing some really big growls inside, probably
wanting to feed on his other organs for nourishment.
This wasn't good he needed his dog, and he needed
his family! Sleep overtook Lil J, and he free fell into a
world of dreams...
