I'm a smoker, dammit.

Oh, right, ok,
I go and stand OUTSIDE,
So that the people walking past me
Can look down their nose at me
As I light up my second favourite vice.

I don't see you
Looking down your nose
As you walk out of a shop
Clutching a salad
As you walk past McDonalds.

I don't see you
Looking down your nose,
As you hit the button to cross safely,
And some maverick walks straight across the road,
Concentrating on sending an inane text.

I don't see you,
Glaring at the girls
Who walk around in miniskirts
And boob tubes
In the middle of winter.

And I definitely don't see you
Looking down your nose,
At the newly of age binge drinkers,
Mixing so many different drinks at such speed,
You just know they'll be in A & E by midnight.

But it's ok to do it to me,
Even though, proportionally,
I put more money into the NHS
On a packet of cigarettes,
Than you do with a year's wages.

I'm a smoker, not an idiot, dammit, find someone else to judge.
