I rarely title my writings
I look at this world
Through tainted eyes
And see a place
I should love, but despise.
I have seen too much
For my own good
But wouldn't change it
Even if I could.
My thoughts always
Seem to be jaded
Bright memories from the past
Now seem faded
I go into the future
With extreme hesitation
And view the past
With great frustration.
What you told me was truth
Was nothing but lies
That I couldn't see through
Until I broke the ties
That you said kept me safe
But did nothing but enslave
You said I was free
But I was only your slave.
I always did
What you said was right
But your right was to wrong
As day is to night.
So I looked bad
As you remained hidden
Brainwashed
To do your bidding
But it won't happen again
Those days are done
Like living in darkness
And finally seeing the sun.
You're no longer my king
My feelings you won't steal
The pain you gave me
I'll forever feel.
Through tainted eyes
And see a place
I should love, but despise.
I have seen too much
For my own good
But wouldn't change it
Even if I could.
My thoughts always
Seem to be jaded
Bright memories from the past
Now seem faded
I go into the future
With extreme hesitation
And view the past
With great frustration.
What you told me was truth
Was nothing but lies
That I couldn't see through
Until I broke the ties
That you said kept me safe
But did nothing but enslave
You said I was free
But I was only your slave.
I always did
What you said was right
But your right was to wrong
As day is to night.
So I looked bad
As you remained hidden
Brainwashed
To do your bidding
But it won't happen again
Those days are done
Like living in darkness
And finally seeing the sun.
You're no longer my king
My feelings you won't steal
The pain you gave me
I'll forever feel.
