Failed Attempts

Remnants of life stained upon these floor boards
Absence of colour marking nights that have passed
Vain attempts only known to cold charaded swords
Lying untouched and begging for these hands once more
Empty shells of my character needing to make this last
Good company procedes as I whine and start to pour

A severance of ties dripping from this celluloid form
Blatant remarks come crawling through distorted imagery
Lessons once learned distastefully mock and reinform
That it's better to be accepted rather than respected
Dancing upon motives as bland as this hollow mimicry
With these tedious lacerations that I have resurrected
