Heaven's Gates

I rise deftly to Heaven's Gates
Where angels debate my fate

Stinging flames, never healing burns,
For one drop of water, I always yearn

I wish to escape this Lake of Fire,
My greatest and only passionate desire

Demons and Devil's Spawn alike,
Torture me with the Triton's spike

Heaven's Gates won't open up for me,
Living a pure life is the only key

My life was wasted, my mind drugged,
The death of me was the bullet from a thug

I was age three and a score,
Not one year less, not one more

My daughter, age 12, was out with the man Seth,
Who slit her throat and stole her last breath

Now she rose to Heaven's Gates
Where the angels were quick to debate

As if to mock me from down here
The golden bars open, her pathway clear

Down the purest streets of sparkling gold,
Where I'd never go, so I was told

Her heart was cleansed by God's Grace,
Priceless, was the look on her face

I remeber when I rose to Heaven's Gates,
Where the angels weren't so quick to debate my fate
